Administrative Assistant

 

Provide support to the Director, the Director of Development, and the Director of Programs in RAND's Gulf States Policy Institute office in New Orleans. The position requires office administration and operations including meeting and conference preparation, travel arrangements, extensive calendaring, answer main telephone number, update website and expense reporting. A major area of responsibility will be handling detailed arrangements for board meetings, donor events, and other activities involving external audiences. Another major area will be handling the operations of the New Orleans office including, ordering office supplies and miscellaneous office furniture and equipment, publications, ordering and set up of computers, handling mail services, parking needs, visitor services, and processing new and separating employees. This position will also need to work closely with building office manager to handle building maintenance issues as well as an offsite RAND manager.

 

The candidate must have outstanding written and oral communication skills as the candidate will be responsible for interfacing regularly with professionals from both RAND and partner organizations including donor and volunteer leaders from national regional organizations. The candidate must have confidence, excellent judgment, initiative and the ability to effectively prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Attention to detail, enthusiasm for projects and a professional demeanor are essential. The candidate must also be a team player.

 

Educational requirements: BA/BS or equivalent experience.
